I’m trying to study for my English course and I need some help to understand this question.

Ophelia’s Voice

Throughout acts I-III of Hamlet, Shakespeare has done little to characterize Ophelia as anything but weak and feeble -minded. She is easily manipulated by the male characters in the play and we never see her assert her true character. However, in Act IV Ophelia sings revealing songs and selectively bestows flowers on several characters. It is through these instances that Shakespeare gives Ophelia her voice.

Discuss what is revealed about Ophelia in this scene. Why do you suppose she chooses this time to reveal her true feelings? What is the larger issue Shakespeare is shedding light upon? Provide textual evidence to support This should be a two chunk paragraph with a clear topic sentence.
